Healthy Relationships (How to hit most of the different learning styles in 1 lesson);
Differentiation is Possible (Creating lesson plans and activities that meet the needs of every reader in your classroom. You can use the same activity, but use books that are on each reader's level. Students can chose to complete activities in Google Classroom or write them on paper. Everyone feels successful!);
ELL Strategies Using Current Events (CNN TEN for ELLS - Reading, Writing, Listening, & Speaking Current Events);
Building Writing Stamina (Building the stamina of reluctant writers can be a challenge. I used a progressive, competitive warm-up method to gently increase my Resource students' writing stamina. Progressive because we started with 1-minute writing warm-ups and increased the time spent writing every couple of weeks until we were writing for 7-10 minutes at a time. Competitive because we counted up the total class words at the end of every warm-up and posted them on class charts. Classes could see which group was "winning" for the week. By the time November rolled around, my students were ready, willing, and, for the most part, excited to write their own novels in the Young Writers Program of National Novel Writing Month).
